Our Return & Exchange Promise
We offer a straightforward and customer-centric returns process for items purchased directly from shinelightworld.com. You may return or exchange most items within 15 days of the delivery date, provided they are in new, unused, and resalable condition with all original packaging and accessories intact.
Step-by-Step Process
1. Initiate Your Request
Please contact our customer service team within the 15-day window to start the process. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Return/Exchange Request” and include the following information:
- Your full name and order number.
- The product(s) you wish to return or exchange.
- The reason for the return/exchange.
- Your preference: refund or exchange (if exchanging, please specify the desired product).
2. Receive Authorization & Instructions
Our team, operating from our Seattle studio, will respond within one business day with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed instructions for shipping the item back to us. Returns sent without an RMA number cannot be processed.
3. Package and Ship Your Return
Please securely repack the item in its original packaging, including all protective materials, manuals, and accessories. Include a copy of your order confirmation or the RMA email inside the box. Ship the package to the address provided in your instructions.
Important: You are responsible for the return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (e.g., wrong or defective item). We recommend using a trackable and insured shipping service. We are not liable for items lost or damaged in return transit.
4. Inspection & Processing
Once we receive your return at our Seattle facility, our quality team will inspect it within 3-5 business days. Upon approval, we will promptly process your refund or initiate your exchange.
Refund Timeline & Method
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase:
- Credit/Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard, JCB) & PayPal: Refunds are processed immediately upon approval and typically appear in your account within 5-10 business days, depending on your financial institution’s policies.
- Please note that original shipping fees (Standard or Free Shipping via EMS) are non-refundable.
- For exchanges, we will ship the new item once the return is approved. Standard or free shipping (for orders over $50) will apply to the replacement item.
Non-Returnable Items
To ensure the safety and integrity of our products for all customers, the following items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Customized or Made-to-Order Products: This includes specially configured combinations of Lamp Bases and Lamp Shades, which are curated to your unique design preferences as noted during collection of your “Customization Preferences.”
- Opened or Used Bulbs & Electrical Components: For safety and hygiene reasons.
- Items not in original condition: Those damaged due to customer misuse, missing parts, or not returned in the original protective packaging.
We design our Lamp Bases and Shades to offer endless personalization. Due to the bespoke nature of these combinations, we cannot accept returns on customized selections.
